A central Illinois priest is showcasing his mini metropolitan masterpiece: an elaborate Christmas village constructed entirely out of model buildings.
The Rev. Don Wolford and his friends built the elaborate community using more than 150 buildings. The display is supported by a series of hidden tables and also includes vehicles, people, rolling hills, a waterfall, an airport, a working mini train and even snow. There’s also an illuminated version of the Decatur Transfer House.
The Christmas Village measures 20 by 22 feet and is six feet tall in some areas. It was set up in Shelbyville’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and will be up until early February.
