Jury selection has begun in the western Illinois trial of a man charged in four killings in 2008 that police say were part of a two-state killing spree.
Nicholas Sheley is charged with murder for the deaths of Brock Branson, 29, his fiancee, her 2-year-old son, and Kenneth Ulve, 25. Their bodies were found in their Rock Falls apartment. Sheley has pleaded not guilty.
Sheley is already serving two life terms after being convicted of killing one man in Sterling and another in Galesburg.
