Saturday morning around 1 officers responded to the 200 block of South 5th Street for a report of two subjects with firearms in the back parking lot of The Gin Mill and Wet
Bar.
As officers arrived on scene they heard gunshots and saw a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.
One victim was located on the ground, on the sidewalk in front of Wet Bar with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim, a 22 year old man, was transported by ambulance to Springfield Memorial Hospital and was taken into surgery.
He is listed in stable condition at this time. The vehicle that left the area was stopped near 1-72 and Veterans. Occupants from the vehicle were transported to SPD and are currently being interviewed.
