The SIU School of Medicine dropped off enough coats, hats and, scarves to keep the students warm throughout the winter.
Julie Robbs, who heads up the school relationship group that has adopted Enos Elementary School says the staff and doctors-in-training says they are involved throughout the year for their “adopted” school.
“They really look forward to the medical students and staff coming over,” Robbs says. “We have people who come read to the kids every week. We have a book drive every year and send every student home with a new book.”
The winter gear was donated by the staff, alumni and, students. This year marks the 30th that SIU-M has worked with the school.
