A student accused of bringing an unloaded gun to school on Friday has been charged as a juvenile.
The State Journal-Register reports the 15-year-old student, who’s not been identified because of his age, has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a weapon. It’s possible he’ll be charged as an adult given his criminal history, which include auto theft and resisting arrest.
District 186 is beefing up security at both Southeast and Lanphier this week; the district is looking into the cost of metal detectors.
