The Houston administration has released its proposed budget for next year and at least one alderman says it is falling short of a key issue facing the city.  Alderman Joe McMenamin says pension funding is still being over-looked.

“The glaring hole…and its been there for 15 years and its underfunding our pensions and we don’t have a plan to address that locally” says McMenamin.

Springfield Budget Director Bill McCarty says the spending plan for 2014 is a “maintenance budget” and calls for a cut of 1-percent from the current budget.  Hearings on the plan begin next month.
