One state legislator was putting the spotlight on the demand for learning trades when he visited the Capital Area Career Center this week. State Representative Wayne Rosenthal (R-Morrisonville) toured the facility and joined students for a fire rescue simulation.

“Every program this school offers, has students working hands-on in real life situations which I think is very important. Students also learn about work ethic and what to expect when they land a job in the community,” says Rosenthal.

Rosenthal says CACC serves 16 school districts in Central Illinois and sets high school students up for success in the field with good paying jobs. School districts and grants help with funding for the 19 programs CACC offers, and four more will be added soon.
