Springfield continues to be an affordable place to call home.
The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s John Parrish says central Illinois stacks up well for those who want to stretch their dollars. Their latest quarterly cost-of-living report was issued Wednesday.
“There are six main categories we survey. There is groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, healthcare and, then miscellaneous goods and services,” Parrish says.
Springfield rates among the most affordable communites in the state and the cost-of-living is below the national average.
