Here’s an ambitious project: eliminate racism.
Psychologists around the country are working on a teaching model.
“There are various different contexts and environments that an undergraduate or graduate might be experiencing in this new training model,” said Nidia Ruedas-Gracia, an assistant professor of educational psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“Some of it is already happening, but this training model really describes, well, we can always do better. Part of it is the field of psychology has not been very representative of the global majority.”
The Public Psychology for Liberation model is seen as an upgrade over simply teaching people how to cope.
