A Taylorville man was sentenced yesterday to nearly 6 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
53 year old William Single was also ordered to pay $10,000.00 in restitution to one of his victims, and he must register as a sex offender.
The government presented evidence that Single was responsible for possessing over 600 images of child pornography and traded these images with someone living in New Jersey.
Single pleaded guilty in August 2022.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice to combat the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
