The mayor’s choice as corporation counsel faced a final round of questioning from Springfield aldermen Tuesday night. Todd Greenburg says there is still a need to be judicious on how documents regarding legal matters facing the city are handled.
“I didn’t say access to documents should be denied. I simply said that as far as providing individual copies of documents then leaving them to individual aldermen to publish them as they wish is something I wouldn’t agree with” says Greenburg.
This comes in the wake of how aldermen were kept informed about police internal affairs documents that were destroyed. The former Bloomington corporation counsel faces a final vote at next week’s city council meeting.
