A strike authorization vote and notice of intent to strike are the latest moves in a labor dispute between University of Illinois Springfield and its faculty.
UISUF-IFT Local 4100 voted Wednesday to authorize a strike if progress is not made soon. A new contact would replace one which expired in August.
The two sides could still head off a strike, as bargaining sessions are scheduled for Friday, Monday, and Wednesday.
