The University of Illinois Board of Trustees have approved a tuition freeze for the 2024-2025 academic school year.

The freeze holds the line on tuition costs for on-campus students at $313.50 per credit hour and $332.25 for grad students.

UIS’ undergraduate tuition rate has stayed the same since 2018. U of I System President Tim Killeen said in a news release. “This decision maintains our ironclad commitment to affordability. Few things we can do have a more positive impact on the working families of Illinois than holding down the cost of a life-changing college education.”

UIS offers a number of financial aid options, including Prairie Promis, a new four-year financial aid program for Illinois residents that fully covers the cost of tuition and fees for first-time, first-year undergraduate students enrolled full time in on-campus degree programs starting in the fall of 2024.
