There’s a non-binding referendum on the Illinois ballot that’s a response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.
Dr. Maura Parker Quinlan, chairman of the Illinois chapter of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, says birth control is important.
Quinlan says half of the pregnancies in Illinois are unplanned, and many times unplanned pregnancy happens because women don’t have access to affordable contraception.
The non-binding question asks if any health insurance plan in Illinois to require birth control as part if it provides prescription drug coverage.
