State Rep. Avery Bourne (R-Morrisonville) was the lieutenant governor candidate on the ticket with Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, who finished third. Bourne brushed aside a suggestion that she – a downstate mom with a farming background – should have been more visible in the ubiquitous television commercials, saying as the lieutenant governor candidate, it was her job to travel the state and tell people why they should vote Irvin for governor.
Davis lost his primary to U.S. Rep. Mary Miller (R-Oakland).
